I’m never good at writing introductions about myself, but I shall still try. It probably looks the same to those who have read my “about me” pages before, but oh well…

Call me Valerie, because I prefer to go by this online. Offline, people know me as Jing Ling, or as my closer friends call me, Jing. Born on 22 January 1986 and currently 22, I live in the sunny island of Singapore (no it’s not somewhere in China!).

I’m a Christian - not because both my parents are Christians, but because at some point of time I realised how true Jesus Christ is. Seeing His works in my life, I truly believe in Him. I attend a Chinese church near my house. Been there all my life, and it’s one place I love to be in. If feels really weird if I miss church on any particular sunday. I’ve been serving in various ministries for the past few years as well, and I’ve learnt a lot from it. Hopefully in the course of serving I’ve also been a blessing to others as well.

Some people say I smile a lot… but smiling is good! You’ll never know when a smile can cheer someone up. A friend once said that she wondered why I didn’t seem to express many other emotions, I guess that’s because sometimes I tend to hide them. There are times where I don’t want my bad mood to affect others; at other times I just rather keep it to myself. I tend to be really quiet when my mood isn’t good though.

I dream a lot. It’s nice to escape into your own world where all your fantasies become “real” once in a while, where you can forget about all your worries and problems and think of happy things instead. I’m not always in a world of my own though… at least that’s what I think. You always have to come back to face reality anyway.
